DDC's Pet Care Plus Coverage
Since Doggie DayCare of Fayette opened in May 2003, we have had very few incidents where dogs have been injured while attending daycare or a sleepover. We estimate that we have had approximately 25,000 dog visits over the past 3-1/2 years and have had only 32 dogs that have required a visit to the veterinarian. That’s a safety rating of approximately 99.98%! Yet, the charges for those visits have totaled over $9,000. And, although the Daycare/Boarding Agreement states that we will not be liable for costs in excess of $100 for any injury to your dog while here at DDC, we have made it a policy to cover the entire cost of any related expenses. The ever rising cost of veterinary care, however, has made continuing this policy unfeasible. For example, a recent visit to a local emergency clinic to suture a minor cut that resulted from a jumping accident cost over $700! Therefore, we have implementied an injury coverage plan called “Pet Care Plus” whereby, for a nominal fee, Doggie DayCare will pay costs up to a maximum of $1,000 associated with any injury sustained while at DDC. This coverage does not apply to any pre-existing condition (such as an A.C.L.), or illnesses (such as bloat or airborne viruses). The fee of $1.00 per day is optional and must be elected at checkin or at the time of the V.I.P. Package purchase. It’s that simple!
